February's book

I can't believe February is almost here!

I was thinking about a lot of books and mentioned a couple to you all, but fake out - I'm not choosing any of those. One of my favorite books I read at BYU was Leadership And Self Deception, published by the Arbinger Institute. Terry Warner is part of The Arbinger Institute and he wrote another book - the book for February - Bonds That Make Us Free

I'm not one for "self help" books or anything like them. I LOVED reading Leadership And Self Deception. I thought it articulated the responsibility we have in our relationships perfectly, and applied in a professional paradigm. Bonds That Make Us Free is supposed to be the same principles applied in a gospel paradigm - I think :) I've never read it.

Anyway, I've wanted to read it for a long time. I think February would be a great month for it. Okay, ready, set, go!

Has anyone already read this?

Good choice! We actually own two copies of this book (or at least we did, I can only find one of them) and I've started to read it probably three times, but that was years ago. My parents gave it to all of us about ten years ago and Tim's mom gave it to all of his family about five years ago.

It seems like I've started to read it before too. Hopefully it's more enjoyable this time around so we actually finish.

By the way, 12 days until my due date!

I'm so excited! Whenever I walk into Deseret Book (which happens to be quite a bit since moving to Arizona) I want to buy every book in there, and this is one of them. Also, the Mesa city library has two copies of it. Gotta love AZ.

Good choice, I am excited! My brother Steve loves this book, maybe we can have him be a guest blogger and post some good discussion questions. Every time I talk to him he makes me think so introspectively, its cool.

Okay, so I've started reading and this is when I really wish we could meet at somebody's house and talk about the book we are reading. There is so much to internalize and I know I would get so much more from it if I could talk it through with you guys! Does anyone want to come over?
