A. How is everyone doing with East of Eden?
I thought it was interesting that Steinbeck was the actual narrator and included himself in the story. I also thought it was interesting to see both the good and bad in every character. Other than Samuel Hamilton, I don't know if there was anyone who made all of the correct choices in their lives. It was a constant effort of choosing good and bad.
B. I'm assuming Jenny is a little busy this month, so do you want me to choose a book, or do you want to take a month off?
C. I love you girls! :)

I second the comment about love, and now I confess that I haven't been reading this month! I'm really sad because I definitely want to read this book and I let ALL of March slip by without doing anything about all the copies at the library being LOST. Lame.
Whether we read in April or May let me know what the book is so I can get a copy in time to read it :)
I'm still working on East of Eden...so my vote would be to skip this month, but either way is fine. I love how Steinbeck develops his characters and how he draws you into the story! I feel like I understand each of their personalities, which are very interesting in themselves..the contrast between good and evil is so apparent in them. I also liked the theme of identity - like how we identify ourselves as a daughter, friend, etc. and how these characters identified themselves. Those are my musings. Happy Spring!
I vote let's keep reading this month and Kim chooses a new book next month.
